A full house for dinner tonight – Jay, Lisa, Garrett and Annie joined us. I stuck to my favorite easy dishes to make for company, so I could enjoy myself without stressing about timing or how to make something.
- Smoked Trout Rillettes (Fine Cooking #42, January 2001, p. 44)
- Chive and Pine Nut Dip with Sourdough Toasts (Gourmet, June 2005)
- Chocolate-Raspberry Pot Pies (Just a Bite, p. 228)
Wine:
– Williams Selyem 2005 Westside Road Neighbors Vineyard Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley, California). Fantastic Pinot, this is why I love Williams Selyem wines.
– Copain 2006 Cerise Pinot Noir (Anderson Valley, CA). Either opened it too early, or it’s just typical of the 2006 Pinots – not a good vintage. Good, but doesn’t hold a candle to the Neighbors.
