I’m sure these apple chips are delightful, but I almost skipped posting about them because we didn’t really get to eat any. I’ve heard good things about the cookbook they came out of so I won’t judge it by just this recipe.
I used a v-slicer to get my apple slices nice and thin, then dipped each side in powdered sugar. The apples went onto a baking sheet lined with foil – not my first choice but I was following the recipe to see how it turned out. Note that for just a few apples, you need a LOT of space with slices this thin. And the recipe says they should cook for about a third of the time they really need.
The worst problem was the foil – the apples completely stuck. I think it would have been fine with a silpat – the tiny shards we broke off turned out to be really good, but I don’t think I’ll go through the effort again (but the recipe is posted here if you’re interested).

Hi, Sheri!
The Caramel Apple Cake was wonderful. I’m thinking of making it for Thanksgiving and planning ahead so I’m not frosting a warm cake at 10:30 at night! LOL! I know you’ll love it. I thought it was worth making the fresh Apple Sauce.
