I hate it when beautifully decorated cookies taste the opposite of how they look. Sugar cookies can often be dry, tasteless chunks of cardboard that are pretty on the outside, icky on the inside.
These cookies don’t fit that description – they’re a bit delicate and very buttery, a really nice cookie. I could have just cut out circles or squares but I love these ninja cookie cutters. Cookie making is one thing, but decorating is a different ball game. Using royal icing to decorate takes patience and a steady hand – I admire anyone that does it well (Gail of One Tough Cookie makes gorgeous cookies, and they taste great too).
I used a #3 tip for decorating. I think I’ll make another batch of these cookies and practice with different shapes and tips, and work on flooding the center and using different colors. They’re still kind of cute in a nerdy way, though. Get the recipe for the cookies at Bake-Aholic.

Where does one find ninja cookie cutters??? the boys would go WILD for those.
On Amazon (http://amzn.to/y7r18m)! Super cute, right? I’m going through a bit of a cookie cutter obsession.
Edited to add: I also have these – mangled gingerbread men! http://amzn.to/zCdvgy
I love how you decorated these. They look adorable. I definitely agree about those beautiful to look at but not at all tasty cookies!
