Our friend Renee was in town for a visit, and I let her pick the meal (okay, I let her pick from three different things I had pre-selected). I’m so glad she chose these tacos – delicious!
Larry smashed up some avocado with lime and grilled the steak while Renee made a great pico de gallo. I whipped up some flour tortillas and made the salad. I love the combination of beans and mango, but I would never have thought to add basil. It worked well – refreshing, crunchy, filling.
The steak is great on its own as well as in a taco. We all did our own thing, adding toppings to our personal preferences. A perfect accompaniment to the meal was lavender mojitos for Renee and I, and a totally delicious homebrew IPA made by our friend Emma.
