Maybe everyone around me is sick of lavender (especially the people who think it tastes like soap) – but I’m unapologetic about continuing to find ways to incorporate it into my food. I get just a couple of months a year with lavender blooming on my street and I love it.
This is my kind of shortbread. Besides the lavender, it’s got honey. I rolled it thick and cut it into shapes, ignoring the recipe instructions to shape it into a log and slice it. Not pretty enough. The cookies are tender and maybe I used too much lavender but I can’t stop eating them. They remind me of summer.
I haven’t made any other recipes from this book, but there’s a lot in there that appeals to me. I can’t wait to try more. Find the recipe for the cookies at Serious Eats.

These look delicious! I haven’t tried lavender in baking yet. I’m going to get my hands on some and make these!
