These bars are exactly my style. Pretty much anything “turtle”, I’m on board – unless it’s actually turtle.
The best part of these, besides the caramel (always the best part of anything), is the buttery, sugary, oats that sandwich the nuts and caramel. These bars went with us on a camping trip, and very few of them made it back. If you ask me, they’re good for dessert, snacktime, or breakfast.
This point in the Baked Sunday Mornings project is bittersweet. We’re winding down, with only twenty recipes left in Baked Explorations. I’m looking forward to returning to many of my favorites from the book. And I’m thrilled that the next book is out – Baked Elements. Whee! I can’t wait to start baking from the new book – Baked Sunday Mornings will start baking from Elements on September 16.
To get the recipe and see the other entries from this week’s Baked Sunday Mornings head on over to Baked Sunday Mornings.

guess it’s time to pre-order baked elements!!! these were crazy sweet and rich. i felt like coconut would be a good addition in the filling!
I just ordered Baked Elements last night! I am a turtle loving freak too so these bars were right up my alley as well. Your bars are beautiful!
Yep! I seem to be on a caramel kick lately and I love desserts with oats, too. These were great.
So looking forward to all the fun kicking off the new book!
i should get my book in a couple of days :) love how thick and chunky your bars are! sounds perfect for camping!
You did a beautiful job with these — and they would be perfect for a camping trip!
