Over at Baked Sunday Mornings, we put together our baking schedule far in advance – and working our way through Baked Occasions, our projects line up with different occasions and holidays. This week, we made a cheesy beer bread for Bastille Day.
With all of the ugliness in the world right now, it’s comforting to lose myself in a baking project. Everyone eats – even people who are hateful or violent. My wish is that a simple offering of bread or cake or pie could make it all better.
So. Here’s some bread. It has cheese – Comté and Lambchopper sheep’s milk gouda. There’s beer, too – I used a Deschutes Mirror Pond pale ale. The bread is delicious. Toast it, slather it with butter, think peaceful thoughts.
