Neither Larry or I are super crazy about bread pudding, but there are parts of this one that are outstanding. As I was caramelizing slices of bananas in brown sugar and butter, I wondered why I don’t make caramelized bananas for dessert more often. So easy, and so delicious.
The bananas are layered in the bread pudding along with chunks of chocolate. The pudding itself is made up of brioche in a mildly peanut butter-flavored custard. It’s pretty easy to make, and if you, like Elvis, are a fan of the banana-peanut butter-chocolate combination, you might enjoy this dessert.
I admit to not even trying a bite of this. Not that I didn’t want to, but I’m somehow still under the weather from our holiday travels and preferred to snooze instead of sample. Larry reported back that he thought it was pretty good – in particular, the combination of caramelized bananas and chocolate got a hearty thumbs up from him.
